গ্লোবাল ইন্স্যুরেন্স লিমিটেড এর সম্প্রতি অনুষ্ঠিত পরিচালনা পর্ষদের সভায় জনাব সাঈদ আহমেদকে সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে কোম্পানির চেয়ারম্যান নির্বাচিত করা হয়েছে।
সাঈদ আহমেদ শরীয়তপুর জেলার ডামুড্যা উপজেলায় এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। একজন উদ্যোক্তা ও শিল্পপতি হিসেবে ইতোমধ্যে তিনি ব্যবসায়িক সফলতা অর্জন করেছেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশ চেক টেকনোলজি লিঃ ও পিউরিটি ফুডস লিঃ এর চেয়ারম্যান, ভ্যানটেজ সিকিউরিটজ লিঃ, সিটি হোমস্ লিঃ ও আল-তাইয়ার ইন্টারন্যাশনাল লিঃ এর ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক, নাহার গ্লাস ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ (প্রাঃ) লিঃ, এবং মেট্রোপলিটন ইউনিভার্সিটির পরিচালক। তিনি দি ফারমার্স ব্যাংক লিঃ এর পরিচালনা পর্ষদের প্রাক্তন নির্বাহী কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান এবং একজন উদ্যোক্তা শেয়ার হোল্ডার। এছাড়া তিনি আহমেদ শিপিং লাইন্স, আহমেদ ইনল্যান্ড শিপিং এজেন্সী, এ.কে. ইন্টারন্যাশনাল এবং আহমেদ এয়ারওয়েজ সার্ভিসেস এর স্বত্বাধিকারী। তিনি বাংলাদেশ কার্গো ভেসেল ওনার্স এসোসিয়েশন এর সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও বর্তমানে কার্যকরী পরিষদের সদস্য।
তিনি ঢাকা ক্লাব লিঃ, গুলশান সোসাইটি, উত্তরা ক্লাব লিঃ, কুর্মিটোলা গলফ ক্লাব, ধানমন্ডি ক্লাব লিঃ, বাংলাদেশ ফ্লাইং ক্লাব লিঃ, চট্টগ্রাম বোট ক্লাব লিঃ এবং অল কমিউনিটি ক্লাব লিঃ এর স্থায়ী সদস্য। এছাড়া জনাব সাঈদ আহমেদ শরীয়তপুর জেলা সমিতির পৃষ্টপোষক সহ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ও সেবামূলক সংগঠনের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত আছেন।
MR. SAYEED AHMED ELECTED AS CHAIRMAN OF GLOBAL INSURANCE LIMITED
The Board of Directors of Global Insurance Limited (GIL) in its recent Board meeting has unanimously elected Mr. Sayeed Ahmed as the Chairman of the Company.
Mr. Sayeed Ahmed comes of a respectable muslim family of Damudda in Shariatpur district. As a young entrepreneur and promising industrialist, he has achieved tremendous succeess in business within a very short time. He is the Chairman of Bangladesh Check Technology Limited. & Purity Foods Ltd.; Managing Director of Vantage Securities Ltd., City Homes Ltd. & Al Taiyer International Ltd.; Director of Nahar Glass Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., & Metropolitan University. He is the sponsor shareholder & former EC Chairman of the former Farmers’ Bank Ltd. Besides, he is also the Proprietor of Ahmed Shipping lines, Ahmed Inland Shipping Agency, A K International and Ahmed Airways Services. He is the member of Executive Council and former General Secretary of Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owner’ Association.
Mr. Sayeed Ahmed is the Permanent Member of Dhaka Club Ltd., Gulshan Society, Uttara Club Ltd., Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhanmondi Club Ltd., Bangladesh Flying Club Ltd., Chattogram Boat Club and All Community Club Ltd. He is the Patron of Shariatpur District Organization and also associated with many social & service oriented organizations.
